Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
At Windfield International School, the safety, wellbeing and protection of every child are at the heart of everything we do.
We are committed to creating a safe, caring and inclusive school environment where every student feels respected, valued, supported and able to speak up if something is worrying them.
Safeguarding is everything we do to protect children from harm and promote their wellbeing. This includes:
Children learn and thrive best when they feel safe. Children may not always be able or ready to tell someone when something is wrong. Our staff are therefore trained to recognise possible concerns, listen carefully and follow the school’s safeguarding procedures.
At WIS, concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing are taken seriously and handled sensitively and appropriately, with the safety and wellbeing of the child at the centre of our response.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All WIS staff have a responsibility to recognise and report safeguarding concerns. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSL) and Safeguarding Team Members support students, staff and families and coordinate the school’s response when concerns arise.

Our Safeguarding Team is shown below so that students and families can easily recognise the adults they can approach for help.

Students can speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team – or another trusted adult in school – if they are worried about themselves or somebody else. They do not need to have all the facts or be certain that something is wrong. If something doesn’t feel right, we want them to tell us.
If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child at Windfield International School, please contact a member of our Safeguarding Team using the contact details on this page. Safeguarding concerns are treated seriously and information is handled appropriately and sensitively.
If a child is believed to be in immediate danger, emergency assistance should be sought without delay.
At Windfield International School, safeguarding is more than a policy – it is part of our everyday culture. We work together with students, families and staff to create a school community where children feel safe, know who they can talk to and are confident that adults will listen and act when they need help.
