The Maternelle stage is the very first step of the French educational pathway. It is designed for children aged 2 to 6 years and includes:

The curriculum is structured around five key areas of learning:

Language Development encompasses oral and written expression, vocabulary building, listening, and comprehension.
Early Mathematics and Logical thinking – numbers, shapes, measurements, and problem-solving.

The Achievement booklet (Cahier de Réussite) is used for recording milestones.
Livret Scolaire Unique (LSU) – the official progress record, updated three times a year.
The end-of-cycle assessment occurs at the conclusion of GS.

The Edu-Livret provides a secure digital card report where teachers and parents can follow progress and validate skills throughout the year.
